Appeal's Midwest
Leadership Insti-
tute, taking place
this weekend at
the Palmer House
in Chicago. At-
tendance of more
than 1,000 Jewish
Gen. Hod communal repre-
sentatives from 56 cities in 12
states in this area is expected.
Detroit leaders who are serving
as sponsors of the institute are
Mrs. Harry L. Jones, national
chairman of the women's division,
UJA; Mrs. John C. Hopp, member
of the advisory board of the UJA
women's division; Hyman Safran,
president of Federation; and Mrs.
Henry Wineman, member of the
advisory board, UJA women's divi-
sion.
Richard Kux Heads
Festival of the Arts at
Center Starting Feb. 2
George Keil, president of the
Jewish Center, has announced the
appointment of Richard L. Kux to
the chairmanship of the 1968 "Fes-
tival of the Arts".
Kux indicates that this year's
festival, to take
place Feb. 25-
March 10, will in-
clude many pro-
grams of art, mu-
sic, dance and
drama.

Committee. He is chairman of the
arts and crafts division of the Al-

Games Night to Open
Socialites' Season
Detroit Socialites is planning a
games night as the first social func-
tion of the new year, 8:30 p.m. Sun-
day at Cong. Beth Hillel. Many
prizes will be awarded and there
will be dancing and refreshments.
The Jewish community is invited.
Members will be admitted free of
charge.
