GENEVA----Swiss authorities in-
vestigating the death of Prof. Ernst
Hardmeier. Swiss doctor who ex-
amined the body of Charles H. Jor-
dan. executive vice chairman of
the American Joint Distribution
Committee whose body was found
in the Vltava River in Prague last
August. said that there was noth-
ing susricious about the professor's
death.
An autopsy on Dr. Hardmeier,
head of the Zurich Medical Insti-
tute, established that the 63-year-
, old professor froze to death when
overcome by the intense cold that
prevailed while he was on a walk
in the mountains near Zurich.
Dr. Hardmeier and Dr. Alexan-
der Gonik went to Prague at the
request of the Joint Distribution
Committee. They confirmed that
Jordan had died of drowning, but
could not indicate the presence of
foul play.
Because of the rumor that Jor-
dan was the victim of foul play, it
was speculated that Dr. Hard-
meier's death was related.
