wAsiiINGTUN (ZINS) — A de-
tailed account of the brain drain
in various countries through emi-

for the first time in an official
report of the American govern-
ment. The report shows that Israel
occupies a prominent place among
the 75 countries whose technicians
and scientists arc emigrating to
America.
In 1966, some 2,000 skilled
technicians and professionals
(engineers, doctors and nurses)
emigrated from England to the

ber was 200: from France, 180;
from Holland, 130; from Den-
mark, 100; and from Israel, 150.
In the course of the last 10
years, approximately 1,000 Is-
raeli scientists and technicians
adopted American citizenship.
This number is exclusive of a
considerable number of technicians
and professionals who are resi-
dents of America while still re-
taining their Israel citizenship. A
comparison of the brain drain in
ratio to population figures in the

10 Pct. Hike in Citrus
Seen Despite Late Harvest
LONDON (JTA) — Israel's cur-
citrus crop will reach 38,000,-
000 crates, a 10 per cent increase
over last year's crop, despite a
late harvest owing to climatic con-
ditions which has seriously delayed
the shipment of citrus to the Brit-
ish and Western European mar-
kets, Moshe Levin, European di-
rector of the Israel Citrus Mar-
keting Board, said Monday.
He reported that the harvest
delay affected all citrus-producing
countries in the Mediterranean re-
gion and might depress prices
when the full crop finally reaches
the market between January and
March.
