Sabbath Services
at Beth Abraham
Students of Beth Abraham Heb-
rew School and members of the
youth group of Cong. Beth Abra-
ham will conduct the Sabbath
morning service Saturday in the
main sanctuary.
Serving as cantors are Andrew
Beider, Bruce Fishman, Gary Gut-
man, Ronald Kopelman and How-
ard Weingarten.
Tora readers are Stuart Farber,
Bruce Fishman, Gary Fishman,
Neil Golden, Albert Fenster, Mark
Diskin, Steven and Billy Chait and
Arthur Indianer.Sermonettes will
be delivered by a panel: Keith
Fishman, Steven Resnick, Fred
Smith, Ronald Borax, Robert Iw-
rey, Graham Fishman and Jeffrey
Phillips.

Yeshiva U. Shows Gain
in Undergrad Students
NEW YORK — A record 7,580
students from 34 states, Puerto
Rico, Israel, Canada, Italy, Pan-
ama, Japan, Argentina, Bolivia,
Peru, England and Africa are en-
rolled at the five undergraduate
and nine graduate and professional
schools of Yeshiva University, ac-
cording to figures released by
Prof. Morris Silverman, registrar
The over-all gain of 7 per cent
over last year was centered almost
entirely at the undergraduate level,
he said, noting that a milestone
had been recorded in the enroll-
ment for Yeshiva college.
The undergraduate school of
liberal arts and sciences for men,
with 1,100 students, has passed
the 1,000 mark for the first time
since it was established in 1928.

Sharon Landau, whose family
has collected gifts for teen-agers
at the Oakland County Children's
Home every Christmas for the past
seven years, has called upon other
Jewish teens to join in the project.

NEW YORK — A record 200
teen-agers are expected to par-
ticipate in the 1968 summer pil-
grimage to Israel sponsored by
the department of youth activities
of the United Synagogue of Am-
erica.
Rabbi Bernard Segal, executive
director of the United Synagogue,
stated that the pilgrimage for
young people, age 15 to 18, will
visit all of the historic sights in
Israel, including the new territories
occupied after the recent war, and
study and work at kibutzim with
Israeli teen-agers.

to Hold Youth Audition
The Oak Park Symphony Society
will hold its third annual youth
audition Jan. 7 for 10th-12th
grade students of the wind instru-
ments who are residents of South
Oakland County.
The winner of the auditions will
perform with the Oak Park Sym-
phony Feb. 4 and will receive a
$125 scholarship to the National
Music Camp or any music camp of
his choice. The winner also will
be presented with a plaque to com-
memorate the occasion.
