Her fiance is a graduate of The City College of New York, and is now attending Downstate Medical School, New York. A June 30 wedding is planned. Detroit Collector Sells Sabbath Lamp for $8,000 Detroit Art collector Charles Feinberg allowed a number of his Jewish ritual objects to be sold at auction last week at the Parke- Bernet Galleries in New York. The collection was auctioned for $183,- 230. The higest price in the sale was $8,000 for a hanging Sabbath lamp in wrought silver, bought by the American Israel Foundation for the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. The lamp was made in London in 1813. A number of pieces from Fein- berg's collection have been photo- graphed for illustrations in books. and many synagogues and Jewish institutions were observing the auction with great intrest. Among oher purchases for the Israel Museum were an Italian 18th Century gold marriage ring, surmounted by a tiny synagogue ($1,000) and a rare Tora pointer in gold, Italian (circa 1840, $1,100) . A silver wedding ring topped with a gabled and turreted syna- gogue, went to an anonymous Italian private collector for $4,500 . The ring was made in Austria in the late 17th Century. This piece belonged to Sampson Wertheimer (1658-1724), who was attached to the court, was a rabbi and one of the outstanding personalities of his time in Jewish life.
