for $1,500,000 Hillel Day School Building

the Hillel Day School, a formal
welcome to the community by
Farmington's superintendent of
schools, Dr. Roderick J. Smith,
and pledges by the community's
notables to strive for completion
of the projected $1,500,000 build-
ing for the day school marked the
ground breaking program Sunday
on the school's selected site, Mid-

Conducted under the chairman-
ship of Morris Brandwine, the im-
pressive program concluded with
Emma Schaver, Carmi M. Slomo-
vitz, chairman of Capitol Funds,
Abe Kasle, president of the school,
Eugene Sloan, chairman of the
building committee, and Rabbi
Jacob Segal, a founder of the
school, turning the first sod. Con-
struction will commence immedi-
ately, Sloan announced.
