Israel to Establish Ties With Iran

(Direct JTA Teletype Wire to The Jewish News)

JERUSALEM — Formal diplomatic relations will be established
shortly between Israel and Iran which recognizes the Jewish state but
has never exchanged ambassadors with it.
This was stated here Monday night by Mordechai Zar, chairman

of Persian Immigrants Association of Israel, at a gathering marking
the recent coronation of the Shah of Iran.
The gathering was attended by Dr. Saked Sadriyeh, an official
of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, who has been living in Israel for

some time. It was the first public appearance of an Iranian official
in Israel.
