Bell- wood, Southfield. The event pre- cedes the official launching of the 1967-68 Israel Histadrut Campaign. Belgian-born Barnir, a member of the first Knesset, is both author and journalist, and he is a Perman- ent lecturer a t t h e Afro-Asian' Institute in Tel Aviv. Barnir set- tled in Palestine in 1932 and was a founder of Ki- butz Ein Hahor- esh, where he liv- ed 25 years. He participated in many foreign Barnir missions on be- half of the World Zionist 'Organi- zation, and as a member of the Histadrut Council was given the responsibility to further good re- lations with the free labor move- ments of Europe. Zalman Zylbercweig to Speak on Two Poets at Sholem Aleichem Sholem Aleichem Institute will present Zalman Zylbercweig, author, lecturer and editor of the "Lexicon of the Yiddish Theater" at its oneg Shabat 8:30 p.m. Nov. 10. Zylbercweig's topic will be "The Two Martyred Poet-Troubadours, Nahum Sternheim and Mordecai Gebirtig." Both poets, who died at the hands of the Nazis, wrote their own lyrics and music to countless popular songs, sung for more than two generations throughout the world. Uval, an exchange teacher from Israel who teaches in the United Hebrew Schools high school, will speak about his experiences as a participant in the June war. Masserman. a Midrasha graduate who spent 14 months as a student at the Hebrew University and who organized a tour to Russia during that stay, will speak about his ex- periences in the Soviet Union and especially about his contacts with Soviet Jewry.
