Eli Goldin, 93; Operated
Shoe Repair Business
Eli Goldin, 93, who operated a
Flint shoe repair shop for 30 years,
died Thursday in Washington, D.C.,
during a family vacation trip.
Mr. Goldin, 5424 Maura, Flush-
ing, owned the former Flint Shoe
Repair shop, which for many years
was at 2201 or 2203-Lewis. He start-
ed the business on Detroit St. after
coming to Flint in 1928 from Koko-
mo, Ind., and retired in 1958. He
was a native of Russia.

Auxiliary, Flint Post, will held its
paid-up membership luncheon
12:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Yorkshire
Restaurant. Bertha Greenberg, de-

Leadership Award at the dinner
meeting.

Active in the Flint Jewish Com-
munity Council for several years,
Dr. Marder also will be recogniied
for his achievement at the general
assembly of the Council of Jewish
Federations and Welfare Funds in
Cleveland Nov. 15.

Thomas Goldman Named
at Philadelphia Hospital
Thomas Goldman, son of Mr. and

Mrs. William Goldman. 2506 Bag-
ley, Flint, was recently promoted
in his post as assistant administra-
tor of the Albert Einstein Medical
Center. 1,100-bed hospital in Phila-
delphia.
He will have the responsibility
of 16 departments of the hospital's
northern division.
Goldman. his wife and daughter
visited with his parents recently.

Sam Greller was named to the
Helms Flail of Fame for waterpolo,
while Ervin Veg was chosen to the
indoor waterpolo All-America.
