Israel Seeks TV Men
to Set Up Programs

NEW YORK — The government
of Israel is in the process of plan-
ning for the inauguration of an
interim television service to be
beamed into areas occupied by the
Israeli Armed Forces, with the ob-
jective of establishing better under-
standing with these communities.
They are seeking experienced tele-
vision producers, directors, an-
nouncers, technicians, cameramen
and photographers.
This program is scheduled to
start operating in six months. A
general Israel television service is
expected in two years' time.
Contracts of at least one year's
duration are being offered. A
screening committee will be in
New York, Los Angeles and the
Midwest to conduct interviews
within a month.
The Israel Aliya Center, 13947
Cedar, Cleveland, with Shmuel
Werzberger as director, has been
designated as the agency to which
professional resumes can be sent
and initial inquiries can be made.
The Israel Aliya Center is the re-
gional office for COMOI, the Com-
mittee on Manpower Opportunities
in Israel.

Lighting Commission
Loses Career Man

Today is Sidney Dorb's last full
day of work for the Detroit Public
Lighting Commission. It brings to
a close 43 years of service to the
commission, of which he is head
electrical engineer.

his graduation as an electrical en-
gineer from the University of Mich-
igan in 1924, Dorb has worked for
one employer at one location. He
is number three man in the PLC
hierarchy.
Dorb is retiring in advance of the
65 mandatory retirement age to
take part-time work with a firm
consulting engineers and "have a
little more time for travel."
Dorb's job has included all
phases of electrical engineering
and a little architecture, structural
engineering and even ventilation,
on the side.
PLC Superintendent Harold W.
Pearson, Dorb's boss, called him
