Paul Schoenfield, young pianist

perform Beethoven's Piano Con-
certo No. 3. Schoenfield recently

Orchestra. Schoenfield comes to
Oak Park after a summer of study
at Marlboro, Vt., studying under
Rudolf Serkin.
The Oak Park Symphony Or-
chestra will play the Roman Car-
nival Overture by Berlioz and
Schubert's Symphony No. 5.
A reception will be held for
Schoenfield and the orchestra after
the concert.
Season memberships are still
available or a limited number of
tickets may be purchased at the
door, the Oak Park Community
Center, Mumford Music or Harri-
son Violins, Berkley. A special
season ticket rate is available to
all senior citizens.

turbed by his 18-month-old sister
Stacey Jill after they had been put
to bed and came out of his room
to complain to dad . . . Art told
him to tell Stacey to keep quiet
and go to sleep ... Fifteen minutes
later, out came Corey again, say-
ing, "Well, dad, I guess your idea
wasn't a good one—what do we do
now?"

THE COMMUNITY-ITE who hired
a housekeeper-maid from Jamaica
told her to clean the back of the
house . . . She later came home
and saw everything as it was and
couldn't find the Jamaican lass
anywhere . .. The local gal went
outside—and there was the maid,
doing a wonderful job . . . clean-
ing the back of the house as she
was told to do !

RECENT HAPPENING was girl
taking some old clothes for charity
to Council of Jewish Women Re-
sale Shop on Puritan . . . She saw
a man holding a gun and said, "You
could hurt someone with that gun
—you better put it down." - . .
When he turned toward her, she
realized that the gun was real .
At the same time, she saw him be-
ing handed some money and be-
came aware that she was in the
middle of a hold up The young
woman took her daughter's hand
and said, "I think we had better
go." . . . Before leaving though,
she handed one of the clerks a
card with her name and address
so she would get credit for her
clothes !

Prospecting Firm to Use
Process Devised in Israel
TEL AVIV (JTA)—Israel Mining
Industries, t h e government-con-
trolled firm for prospecting and
exploiting the country's mineral
resources, announced today it had
signed an agreement with a British
industrial group licensing it to use
a process developed here for puri-
fying phosphoric acid. The British
group is Albright & Wilson.
