Rabbi Says Christians
Must Know Israel's Role

WILMINGTON (JTA) — The
failure of Christians to understand
the significance of the attack on
Israel and what Israel means to
the Jewish people proves that
Christians and Jews are still sep-
arated "by a great abyss of lack
of knowledge and misunderstand-
ing," clergymen of this area were
told Sunday by a rabbi who has
played a prominent role in inter-
faith dialogue.
Addressing clergymen of Wil-
mington and vicinity at a special
session of the National Conference
of Christians and Jews and the
Rabbinical Association of Dela-
ware, Rabbi Marc H. Tanenbaum
noted that "substantial progress"
had been made in the past five
years in overcoming "mythologies
and stereotypes" that Jews and
Christians held about each other.

War Rebuilt the Bridge
Between Jews, Israelis'

COLD SPRINGS, N.Y. (YEA) —
The Six-Day War has resulted in
profound changes in the relation-
ships between American Jews and
the Israeli people and, particular-
ly, between the youth of the two
countries, the North American
Jewish Youth Council was told
here.
Addressing the three-day confer-
ence of the council at Surprise
Lake Camp, Yaacov Morris, Israeli
diplomat and representative of the
Jewish Agency, said that the war
had "not only brought Western
Jews back to Judaism but also
brought many Israelis back to the
Jewish pepole as well. In terms
of the future," he added, "this

means that the two-way bridge be-
tween the Jews of Israel, and the
United States has been strength-
ened and in some ways rebuilt.
There is now a two-way bridge be-
tween equals."

K.C. Rabbis for Equality

KANSAS CITY (JTA)—The Rab-
binal Association of Greater Kan-
sas City joined 'forces with seven
other religious denominations here
to launch a local Project Equality,
an inter-religious effort to utilize
the purchasing power of religious
institutions to broaden equality of
job opportunity. Rabbi William B.
Silverman of Temple Bnai Jehudah
is representing the rabbinal group.
