Megdell also announced the delegation that will be attending the National United Jewish Ap- peal Study Mission to Israel Oct. 19 -Nov. 2. In cooperation with Bnai Brith Lodge of Flint. the Jewish Com- munity Council distributed 400 ADL memo and date books to teachers, principals and other per- sonnel of the public schools, minis- ters and city officials. A listing of Jewish holidays, sent to the superintendent of Flint Schools, was reprinted in the superintendent's bulletin to all schools. The council office handles many inquiries from the general coin- munity for information on Jews and Judaism. The board of governors approved an action which would make the Flint Jewish Community Council a co-sponsor, along with several civil rights organizations, of a re- quest that Governor Romney place Youth on the Move The Youth Council. composed of AZA, Bnai Brith Girls. Temple Teens and United Synagogue Youth, will help collect money for • UNICEF again this year. They are also planning a community-wide "Dialogue on Race Relations" 2 p.m. Oct. 15. at Cong. Jan" 28—Max Dimont, lecturer and author of "Jews, God and His- tory." Feb. 29—"The World of Paddy Chayefsky" with a cast of four performers. March 24 — "From Shtetl to Broadway," with a cast of three performers, a musical panorama. The council's Young Leadership Group also has a scheduled a number of programs for the corn- ing year. On Nov. 5. at the annual dinner-meeting Flint Jewish Com- munity Council, the younger group will take part. "The Six Day War— Its Impact on the American Jewish Community," will be discussed by Dr. Howard Sachar, professor of history, George Washington Uni- versity. In January, the theme will be community relations. "What Lies Ahead in Jewish Community Rela- tions?" will be discussed by a speaker from the National Com- munity Relations Advisory Coun- cli. "Israel '68—Will She Be Able to Meet Her New Challenges?" will be discussed by James Noble of Akron, member of the UJA Young Leadership Cabinet, Feb. 6; and "Where Do We Go From Here?—An Analysis of Our Corn- munity's Survey" by Dr. 'Albert Mayer, professor at Wayne State University and survey study di- rector, will be in March. A brochure describing the pro- gram will be mailed to all par- ticipants as soon as it is prepared. All meetings will be held in homes of program partcipants.
