The needs were increasing daily with the steady inflow of newcomers to; Israel. The gap had to be filled. We accepted the challenge, and the 1967 Allied Jewish Campaign produced a near-record amount from an aware and responsive community. Then late in the spring of this year, it became apparent that Israel was facing a crisis of con- flict with Arab nations. Once again our community was chal- lenged to meet a larger part of the financing of welfare services in Israel.
