M. E. Issue 'Complicated'

WASHINGTON (JTA) — Prime
Minister Jens Otto Krag of
Denmark said in an address be-
fore the National Press Club Sept.
27 that an Arab-Israeli solution was
"not easy" and that he would not
be surprised if it took some time.
He termed the problem "very, very
complicated." He said that "per-
haps, it has to be solved by direct
negotiations" and "perhaps, it has
to be solved by some action of the
United Nations."

meeting of the State Bar Assn. at
the Sheraton Cadillac. William Ell-

duced his parents, Judge and Mrs.
James I. Ellmann, and noted that
his father had just observed his
80th birthday and that he had prac-
ticed law here for 57 years, the
elder Ellmanns received a stand-
ing ovation from the large gath-
ering which included some of the
state's most noted jurists and at-
torneys.
Ernest Ilaverman, noted au•
thor, as guest speaker at the

dinner, speaking on the role of
the lawyer in present-day society,
deplored the conformity among
Americans, the manner in which
they now think alike, and de-
dared that "Lawyers are the last

rugged outpost against conform-
ity."

Haverman, a close friend of Bill
Ellmann since their association in
the last world war, emphasized
that "this nation was founded by
non-conformists." He warned that
"conformity is stifling and can be
dangerous and fatal." He declared
that lawyers play an important
