Nelly Sachs Poems to Be Published in English on Oct. 9

A collection of Nelly Sachs' No-
bel Prize-winning poetry will ap-
pear for the first time in the Eng-
lish language on Oct. 9, when Far-
rar, Straus & Giroux will publish
"0 the Chimneys" selected poems
and the verse play "Eli."
The poetry has been translated
by Michael Hamburger, Ruth and
Matthew Mead, and Michael Roloff,
