Stuart Symington. a leading mem-
ber of the Armed Services and
Foreign Affairs Committees. left

Longshoreman Strike
Stalls Ships in Ashdod

TEL AVIV — About 300 long-
shoremen went on strike at the
port of Ashdod Tuesday in pro-
test against the enrollment in
courses for foremen of a number
of men who do not belong to the
harbor's regular work force.
As a result of the walk-out, eight
ships are tied up in the harbor,
awaiting loading or unloading of
cargoes.
