ALAN R. GOLDMAN has been
promoted to second vice president
of Manufacturers Bank, it was an-
' nounced by Roland A. Mewhort,
president and chief executive of-
ficer. Goldman who holds both a
BBA and MBA from the University
of Michigan, joined Manufacturers
in 1963 and has been assigned to
the bank's investment department.
He is a member of the Bond Club
of Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Goldman
and their daughter reside on
Greenfield Rd.. Royal Oak.

RABBI ARTHUR GILBERT,
national leader in Jewish-Christian
dialogue, has been appointed as-
sistant to the president of the Jew-
ish Reconstructionist Foundation,
Rabbi Ira Eisenstein. Formerly dir-
ector of the Anti-Defamation
League's department of religious
curriculum research, Rabbi Gilbert
conducted a survey of Jewish-Chris-
tian-Moslem relations in Israel for
the Israel government in 1958. His
book "The Vatican Council and
the Jews" will be published next
spring. In 1961 Rabbi Gilbert's
study of past ecumenical councils
and their legislation on Jews
earned him a Catholic Press Award.
