Make Your Party Swing with THE PUPPETS Formerly The Montego, Music for the Young of All Ages Number of Isra?I School Children Shows Drop FOR BOOKINGS CALL: 342-4887 — TE 2-9193 JERUSALEM (ZINS)—For the first time since the establishment of the state the number of Jewish pupils was smaller than in the pre- ceding year when Israel's schools opened on Sept. 1. It is estimated that the drop in the total is ap- proximately 20,000 children. The reason for this situation is the low birth rate of the Jewish population which is around 22.3 per 1000 in- habitants per year. On the other hand, the Israeli Arabs' birth rate is beating all records-48 per 1000. This is not only higher than in any Arab country. It also exceeds * the high birth rate of 40.9 per 1000 * in India. No forecasts for the liber- * ated areas have been worked out * as yet.
