NCJW Directors to Hold Institute Tuesday Mrs. David Saks was pre- sented with the annual award as "Woman of the Year" by David Utley, president of Cong. Bnai Is- rael at the recent congregational meeting in Pontiac. Mrs. Saks was cited for "loyalty and dedicated services to the synagogue." Immediate past president of the sisterhood, youth group adviser and Sunday school teacher for several years, Mrs. Saks also is immediate past president of the Pontiac Area Federation of Women's clubs, comprised of 42 organizations. She has served a: Mrs. Saks le 1965 Pontiac Area United Fund chairman, women's division, is 1967 chairman for the Pontiac Citizen's Commit- tee on Youth and is currently serving on the Pontiac Finance Study Committee appointed by Mayor William Taylor Jr. Mrs. Saks has only recently been named the 1968 chairman for the "Salute to Youth" ci ty wide achievement program for Pontiac's high school students. Pontiac Chapter of Hadassah will hold its Hadassah Israel Fash- ion Show 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Temple Beth Jacob, with Mrs. Saks as chairman. Mrs. Irving Gor- don is co-chairman. While a resident of Detroit, Mrs. Saks served as president of the Medical Aid Guild. A few years ago, she visited a brother and sister for the first time in the Ukraine and has shared her experiences with many civ i c, fraternal, federated and religious groups in the Pontiac and Detroit areas.
