Rose-Forman Nuptials Beth Abraham Sept. 24 Bond Dinner Held at Beth Abraham for Ben Siegal; Reception Is Planned • MRS. S. MONROE ROSE Sharon Gail Forman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Forman of Chapel Ave., became the bride of S. Monroe Rose in an evening ceremony at Cong. Beth Abraham, with Rabbi Israel Halpern and Cantor Shabtai Ackerman officiat- ing. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rose of Montrose Ave. The bride designed her gown with a fitted Chantilly lace bodice, scalloped neckline and long, pointed sleeves. The full, silk organza skirt was graced with lace appliques, and a chapel train of matching lace and organza fell from a bow at her shoulders. She carried orchids and Stephanotis on a prayer book. Her petal-shaped headpiece of lace and seed pearls held a shoulder-length veil. Matron of honor was Mrs. Sanford Guss, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Muriel Green- spon of New York, Myrna Rose, sister of the bridegroom, and Rene Geller of Toronto. Arthur Mendelson of Toronto was best man, and ushers were Sanford Guss, Kenneth Geller of Toronto and Milton Zaft. The couple honeymooned in Canada. Marriages DAVIS-KRITZER: Joyce Diane Kritzer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford J. Kritzer of Scotia Ave., Oak Park, and Stuart Michael Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin D. Davis of Stratford Dr., South- field, were married Thursday at Temple Israel, Rabbi M. Robert Syme officiated. Ben Siegal, who has held every key office at Beth Abraham, in- cluding the presidency, will be the guest of honor at the Cong. Guest star at the affair, on be- half of Israel Bonds, will be Rivka Raz, star of the Israel in- Siegal telligence corps, will be guest speaker. Siegal, who will be honored as Beth Abraham Man of the Year, has been active in the congregation for 30 years. Born in Galicia, he spent his childhood in Manchester, England, and came to Detroit in 1914. He has been active in the Israel Bond campaign for a number of years. Coming to Detroit 53 years ago, Siegal founded the National Ex- position Service, which specializes in displays and exhibitions, 40 years ago. He is active in Jewish affairs and is a life time member of the Masons. Sam Kaufer and William Genser are dinner co-chairmen. Rabbi Is- rael I. He was also responsible for the exchange of war prisoners. The affair will be in advance of the Beth Abra- Ackerman ham Israel vie- tory dinner, which will honor Ben Siegal as "Beth Abraham Man of the Year," who has served as president and has held every im- portant office in the Congregation. Col. Tamir has served as deputy commander-in-chief for personnel and administration of the Israel Air Force, chief of the administra- tive office of the Technical school, head of the Office of the Chief In- structor of the Flying School, chief instructor in the School for Gen- eral Studies and chief of the Head- quarters Organizational Branch. He has served as advisor on or- ganizational problems of small air forces at the request of several African states and was a member of the Officers Advanced Training School in the Royal Air Force. He joined Hagana as a youth, was arrested and imprisoned by British authorities and during Is- rael's War of Independence served with an infantry division in the Negev campaign. He has served in the Israel Air Force since its early beginnings and played a leading role in expanding and moderniz- ing the air force. Col Tamir is a third generation Sabra.
