22—Friday, September 1, 1967 THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Federation Women Will Schedule Leadership Training Course Sept. 18 A five-week leadership training course for women in the commun- ity will begin Sept. 18, under the sponsorship of the women's divi- sion of the Jewish Welfare Fed- eration. Mrs. Norman 11. Rosenfeld is chairman of the seminars, with Mrs. Brand Marwil as vice-chair- man and Mrs. Bert L. Smokier as adviser. The course is designed to give women in the community an in- depth look at the pattern of com- munity services, their support and operation. Introduction to the concept of Federation. a look at the Jewish Family and Children's Service and an outline of the program of the Jewish Community Center will be the subjects of the first session which opens at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 18 at the Jewish Center. Mrs. Sol Lifsitz; chairman of the day, will be assisted by Mrs. Lewis Milgrom and Mrs. Richard Sloan. At the second session, Sept. 25, the group will leave the Ten Mile Branch of the Jewish Center at 9:45 a.m. for a trip to Camp Tamarack. Chairman for the program is Mrs. Melvin H. Horn- stein, with Mrs. Maurice Kurz- mann and Mrs. David Margolin assisting. The other scheduled sessions are: Oct. 2 — 9:45 a.m., a tour of Sinai Hospital and Shiffman Clinic and a look at United Heb- rew Schools. Mrs. David Dombey, chairman of the day, will be as- sisted by Mrs. Albert M. Colman. Oct. 9 — 9:45 a.m., A visit and lunch at the Home for Aged on Petoskey and the Bor- man Branch on West Seven Mile Rd. Chairmen are Mrs. George Stutz and Mrs. Jerome J. Trumper. Oct. 16 — 9:45 a.m., A tour Mr. and .11- rs. Gilhooley, - Ilonermoon in Toronto i of the Community Worksho p, agencies housed in the Butzel Bldg., and a look at national and overseas programs supported by the Allied Jewish Campaign. The women's division's program and plans will be revealed. Mesdames Coleman Mopper, Ronald Green- berg and Louis Berry will be chair- men of the day. The final meeting on Oct. 23 will be a graduation tea at the home of Mrs. Norman Rosenfeld on Hamilton Road. Diplomas will be awarded to students who have com- pleted the five-week course. Adas Shalom Couples to Take Stock at Meeting Larry Freedman The first general meeting of Adas Shalom Young and Marrieds Club will be 8:30 p.m. Sept. 14 in the board room of the synagogue.
