Union of Haters: SNCC Joins Kremlin, KKK

Instead of a union of all liberal forces
against bigotry. race hatred and the spread
.51 untruths, we are witnessing a fusion of the
elements of hatred and bitterness. Instead of
search for means of unifying the American
people into a single force striving for amity
among all faiths, all races. citizens with a
.-elird for law and order regardless of party
affiliations, we are being treated to incitement
to violence. to the infuriating methods of
hate-mongers who state without reservations
that they would just as soon burn this country
down in order to attain power. And in the
process of this un-American—anti-American!
method of dealing with fellow-citizens we are
being treated to another partnership: an
unholy alliance of a so-called non-violent
Negro element with the vilest of the world's
ln•i-Semitic groups.

SNCC has been likened to the Ku Klux
Klan. Its ideology now is akin to the revived
('zarist Russian practices that have been
,chipted by the scurrilous elements in the
Soviez Union. We have before us a combina-
tion of deluded bigots who stem from anti-
Israel Arab lands. the USSR anti-Semites.
the KKK and the medievalists who are reviv-
'lir the pernicious Protocols and such libels
as ritual murder. and every conceivable
(rime that has been laid at the doors of
Jewry by those who sought to destroy us.

SNCC emerges in a most puzzling light.
At a time when Negro spokesmen must join
forces in establishing unity based on what
this group claims to be propagating—non-
violence. which must be emphasized as oppo-
sition to looting, to rioting, to arson, to
destruction of life and property—the young
:'Jctiro group is espousing the cause of hatred.
of suspicion. of prejudice, by spreading false
libels and by linking itself with the most
anti-Semitic groups in the world.

What SNCC is doing is adding fuel to
flames that are being spread in many parts
of the world. It is now the partner of the
unholy alliance that includes Nasser and
Fedorenko as well as the former Mufti of
Jerusalem who advocated Israel's destruction.
SNCC has given one of the severest blows
to the civil rights movement. Instead of striv-
ing to establish conditions that would prevent
the emergence of backlash either among
them or among whites. SNCC gives encour-
.igment to despair. to lack of faith, to a loss
of confidence in a full partnership between
Negroes and whites.
It is a minority that does not speak for
the majority. The sane element in the Negro
viks already has repudiated SNCC. The
masses of the Negro people must let them-
selves be heard in condemnation of the
outrageous hate-mongering that stems from
the Negro group's headquarters in Atlanta.

What has happened in the SNCC quarters
is symbolic of the hatreds that are in evidence
in many other quarters. It is equivalent to the
Cairo propaganda. It is like the Fedorenko-
Knsygin venom expressed at the UN and in
Glassboro, N.J. It is part of a scheme to revive
the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, the
stupidest yet most harmful fabrications on
record. The Protocols were the tools of Czar-
ist Russia against Jewry. then they became
the means of fostering hatred by Hitler, now
they are again the joint instrument used
against the Jewish people by the Kremlin,
by Nasser, by haters in this country—and by
their new partners, the SNCC!
There is no doubt about the union of
haters, even if it is not a conscious one. They
are now in evidence everywhere. The eminent

foreign correspondent of the Guardian of
London. Terence Prittie, author of the widely
acclaimed "Israel—Miracle in the Desert," in
an extensive report on the harboring of Nazi
criminals by Egypt and on Egypt's resort to
the lies of the Protocols, points out the
following:

The work of the West German legal authorities
in bringing Nazi war-criminals to justice is being
made unnecessarily difficult by the refusal of
some countries which have given them asylum
to extradite them or, in some cases, even to
answer notes sent by the West German govern-
ment.
The country with the blackest record in this
respect is undoubtedly Egypt. West Germany has
no extradition treaty with Egypt, but, where no
treaty exists, it is always possible to secure extra-
dition by requesting it formally and promising
reciprocal action, if and when required.
Egypt continues to harbor a large number of
ex-Nazis, including some of the worst war crim-
inals of Hitler's Reich (Leopold Gleim, Heinrich
Willerman, Oscar Dirlewanger, Hans Eisele,
F reidrich We sem ann ) .
Egypt has given asylum to other known war
criminals, but also to a great many ex-Nazis of a
pernicious kind who are not yet facing formal
charges (Louis Keiden, Franz Fuensche, Walter
Bolmann, Alois Moser, Heinrich Sellmann).
The presence of dozens of prominent ex-Nazis
has almost certainly contributed to the increase
of anti-Semitic literature in Egypt and other Arab
countries. The Arab world was not traditionally
interested in racialist theory but in recent years
there has been a rash of publications accusing
the Jews of ritual child-murder and the sucking
of the blood of infants, propagating the mythical
"plot against world civilization" of the "Protocols
of the Elders of Zion," and depicting Jews by
means of caricatures culled from the pages of
Julius Streicher's "Stuermer."
It will be a useful byproduct of any peace
agreement which can now be reached between
Israel and her Arab neighbors if something can
be done about the surviving Nazi war criminals.
Extradition treaties could enable them to be
shipped to Germany. Poland, the Soviet Union,
and other countries where they could be brought
to justice.

When we take into account these facts,

link them with the spread of venom in Russia
and in SNCC ranks, compare the cartoons
that were used by the SNCC newsletter with

Israel Year Book Describes Trade
Relations, Exploration, Economy

"Israel Year Book 1967" issued by the economic department of
the Jewish Agency is packed full of basic facts about Israel that will
serve as a guide for all who are interested in Israel's aspirations
and development.
Although it had already gone off the press before the June six-day
war, all of the data incorporated here is applicable to Israel's status
today.
Israel's official family, economic experts, notables in civic life
and in high academic roles, participate in the review of facts relating
to Israel's activities.

The hoped-for migration of Jews into Israel from Western
countries remains a major hope, as indicated in the opening essay
by Prime Minister Levi Eshkol who states that "our first and im-
mediate aliya concern must be to find means of developing a
substantial immigration from the Americas and from other coun-
tries of the Western Hemisphere."

He writes about "amenities that can be made available" — of
offers to be made to prospective settlers "with a maximum of under-
standing and a minimum of bureaucracy, in housing, mortgages, loans,
licenses."
t
The obligations faced in handling Israel's economy are described
by Finance Minister Pinhas Sapir, who tells how tax dollars are spent
for the advancement of health, education and other government func-
tions. He shows that the trade deficit in 1965 was by $50,000,000
lower than in 1964.
While many other articles, by Minister of Commerce and Industry
H. J. Zadok, Governor David Horowitz of the Bank of Israel, A. L.
Dulzin, head of the Jewish Agency economic department, and Dr. L.
Berger discuss Israel's economy, the section "Guide to the New Im-
migrant" is of special interest. One of the leading articles in this
group, by Prof. Benjamin Akzin of the Hebrew University, describes
the functions of the Knesset. Israel's legal system is outlined by Judge
Henry E. Baker of the Jerusalem District Court.

The Hebrew University's "commitment" is described by the
those now circulated in Russia, we see a
university's president, Dr. Eliahu Elath. The Weizznann Institute's
common pattern, an identical line of think-
functions are explained in a brief review.
ing, a psychopathic attitude that may not be

easy to cure. There is a world sickness and in A. Students

there are too few physicians to cure it. And

little Israel once again must be on the alert— Wilkinson. A section is devoted to the Israel diamond industry, and
not only against the hate-mongers in Cairo the section dealing with commercial relations includes articles by
and in Damascus and in the Kremlin but also industrialists and authorities on Israel's economic development.
Several scholarly essays deserve special attention. Zvi Singer's

"The Wisdom of Ben Sira" briefly outlines the Ben Sira book of
to be on guard against so many hatemongers/

Singer states in his essay "that the manuscript that was discovered

civil rights!

What has happened in the current dis-
graceful acts of the so-called non-violent
Negro group is that it has incited to hatred
that could lead to riot. That group, posing
as a peace-aspirant, is acting out of sheer
ignorance. It has fallen prey to the vilest
lies that had emanated from Cairo, especially
since 1956.
This group has emulated the sadistic
policies of the Russian press which has re-
sorted to Streicher patterns in depicting Jews.

There is no doubt that what SNCC did
was not to pursue an anti-Israel policy but
to adopt anti-Semitism as its platform. On

them as of the first half of the century BCE. He adds:
"On the strength of his comparative analysis of the texts of
Masada and the Cairo 'Geniza', Prof. Yadin argues persuasively that
in spite of many variants, the Masada scroll is basically identical with
that of the `Geniza' manuscript. This means, of course, a confirmation
of the view that the `Geniza' manuscripts are based on the original
Hebrew version. Another conclusion reached by Yadin in his study
of the scroll is that the text by Ben Sira's grandson for his Greek
translation was very close to the Masada text. But his most exciting
conclusion is that the Masada scroll is closest to, and perhaps identical
with, the original text of Ben Sira . .."

Another interesting discovery recorded in the 1967-68 Year
Book is the ancient coin with the YHD inscription with a lily on

the reverse side. Y. Meshorer describes its significance, traces
it to the legend of the Persian name of Yehud in the Judaean
satrapy in the fifth or fourth pre-Christian centuries. It explains
the epigraphic similarity in the inscription of the lily to the owl.

There also is a valuable article describing the Yemenite Jewish

silversmiths. Nahum Oundak describes their expertise in this essay.
Another section of the year book deals with the development of
petroleum exploration.
Several essays describe Israel's economic relations with Israel.
One by W. M. Kerrigan, former first secretary of the U. S. Embassy

all scores, it stands indicted as an inhuman
element that poses as a justice-seeking civil
in Tel Aviv, deals with "Israel's Trade With the U. S."
rights advocate.
