He poses as a writer, gets money from his sister, puts on a front. When the affair with Jenny, the young American girl ends, he has another temporary affair, gets news that Jenny died in an auto accident, retains his front. Harryboy finds himself anew when he turns to his natural work while visiting a cleaner's shop and working on many pairs of pants. The true nature then emerges. Baron's novel is well written and the reader's attention is retained throughout in the narrative.
