HAIFA (JTA) — The New York
International Basketball Associa-
tion was given by the Haifa muni-
cipality a three-month, free op-
tion on a two-acre site where it
might erect a sports and cultural
center in this city.
The center would contain an au-
ditorium with a capacity of 3,000
spectators, an indoor arena seat-
ing 15,000, television studios, a
shopping center and underground
parking space.
The offer was made to Leon H.
Charney, of New York, president
of the IBA. He told the press that
the IBA plans to build such cen-
ters in the United States and Eur-
ope, and possibly here as well, for
use by international sports events
that would be televised throughout
the world via Telstar.
He said the association would

Group Folds- ,
Gives $255.25
to Israel Fund

No longer able to meet regularly
because of the members' ages.
Progrobischter Ladies' Society has
disbanded and the group has
turned over the entire amount in
its treasury — $255.25 — to the
Israel Emergency Fund.
In behalf of the Progrobischter,
Mrs. A. Turbow, of 22181 Avon,
Oak Park, had her daughter, Nettie
Hoffman, turned over the check to
Joseph H. Peven, who, in turn,
made the presentation to the Is-
rael Emergency Fund.
Peven, who is vice president of
Berezniter and who is active in
Allied Jewish Campaigns and other
causes, said the Progrobischter
society was founded 32 years ago
and the group had participated in
many local causes.
Peven said the gift of $255.25
was made, in addition to Mrs.
Turbow, in behalf of the following
members: Mrs. H. Zack, 20506
Ward; Mrs. P. Hoffman, 19741
Monte Vista; Mrs. H. Guss, 13311
S. Norfolk; Mrs. S. Abramson,

nick, 18660 Greenfield; Mrs. M.
Plaskove, 19664 Woodingham; Mrs.
M. Zack, 16194 Bayles; Mrs. H.
Unatin, 13329 Norfolk; Mrs. D.
