MICHAEL FAYNE • Dr. Schrut Views Suicide Patterns Dr. Albert Schrut of Los Angeles, former Detroiter, now clinical pro- , fessor of Psychiatry at the Univer- sity of Southern California School of Medicine, stated in announcing a study on suicides that most ado- : lescent girls who try to kill them- selves do so because they feel rejected. Dr. Schrut said that approxi- mately half of the girls, whose conditions were studied by the Los Angeles Suicide Prevention Center, attempted suicide after feeling re- jected by parents because of alleged failure to fulfill expectations. Re- jection by boy-friends accounted for suicide attempts by a third of the girls under study. Dr. Schrut is the son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Neiman of 18030 Pennington.
