The plan would divert the river Detroiters Wednesday at a dinner from a point south of the Bnot r Yaacov Bridge to lead the stream toward Lake Tiberias so that a huge waterfall would result, to be used as a source of hydroelectric power. It was abaflOned when the Syrians opened series of at- tacks against Israel. Israel's Na- tional Water Scheme contented it- self with use of water only from Lake Tiberias. Allon revealed the plan for re- newing the project when he ad- dressed a meeting of the central committee of Histadrut, Israel's federation of labor. The meeting was held to discuss the unemploy- ment situation. Now, Allon said, the government is planning to re- vive the original Jordan River plan, thus providing many jobs for Israelis. DR. MAX JAMMER arranged by Mr. and Mrs. Max Stollman and Phillip Stollman, at their summer home, 26'75 N. Lake Angelus, Drayton Plains. Dr. Jammer, who has just ar- rived from Israel, will report on current conditions in the country and will give his impressions of the Israelis' reactions during the six-day war. He also will report on the role of Bar-Ilan's faculty and student body during the war period. The Stollmans will he hosts to Dr. Jammer during his several days' visit here. Meanwhile, Israeli troops on duty in northern central Sinai began to receive fresh water di- rectly from El Arish water wells through a six-inch pipeline laid in record time in a blitz opera• lion by the Israeli army and civil engineers. In 21 days, the two services placed the line from El Arish on the north Sinai shore to Bir Ghafgafa, about 60 miles. A little ceremony was held as seven water hoses poured fresh water into the hot Sinai desert sand to mark the opening of the new pipeline. The delegation of Tunisia, which repeatedly urged Israel-Arab ne- gotiations before the June war, de- plored the "violent nature" of anti- Israel propaganda by some Arab countries before the outbreak of the war. The delegation argued that such "blood-thirsty threats" had lessend sympathy for the Arab cause in other parts of the world.
