The Council of Orthodox Rabbis invites the enquiry and interest of both of nursing home personnel and families who have an aged parent or relative in a home who feel that such a visit would be of help. Brandeis Gets U.S. Grant to Study How Elderly Live WALTHAM — Brandeis Univer- sity has been awarded a S146.987 grant by the U.S. Public Health Service to continue a study into – how the elderly live in the United States. The money will support the third year of the four-year project. which is being carried out by the research center of th" University's Florence Heller Graduate School for Advanced Studies in Social Welfare under the direction of Dr. Kermit K. Schooler, associate pro- fessor of socia' research and di- rector of the center. Dr. Douglas L. Hink, assistant professor of research, who is work- ing with Dr. Schooler, said some 4.000 elderly across the country would be interviewed as to their attitudes and physical well-being. The first two years of the pro- ject, Dr. Hink said, were spent in- terviewing persons 65 years of age and older living in public and pri- vate housing in Massachusetts and in private housing in Arizona.
