Judge J. J. Goldstein Dies in New York; 81 NEW YORK (JTA)—Judge Jon- ah J. Goldstein, prominent figure in the New York Jewish commun- ity and president of the Grand Street Boys Association, died July 23 in Bethlehem, N.H. He was 81 years old. He had retired from the General Sessions bench 11 years ago. A native of Canada, he was brought to New York City at the age of six and was raised on the lower East Side. He was active in many New York welfare activities and served on the board of many Jewish institutions. He was an unsuccessful candidate for the mayoralty in 1945. Dr. Frances Medow Dr. Frances Medow, a retired Detroit chiropractor, died July 19 in Guadalajara, Mexico. She was 53. Dr. Medow, 18433 Stoepel, re- tired in 1952 when she married husband, Nathan.
