Jewish Appeal, their deep interest
in Israel and in the Flint social
services.
With her husband. Mrs. Pelavin
traveled widely, visited Israel,
shared in efforts for the Jewish
National Fund and other causes. ,
She also took a deep interest in
her husband's efforts to encour-
age artists and writers. especially
in his sponsorship of the publica-
lion of the art works of the late
Saul Raskin.

and lived in the Detroit area 50
years. He was a member of Adas
Shalom Synagogue, Mosaic Lodge
F&AM, Crescent Shrine Club and
Pisgah Lodge of Bnai Brith.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret;
two sons, Arnold and Lewis E.;
a brother, Nathan Cook of Florida;
five sisters, Mrs. Yetta Kalisher,
Mrs. Sidney (June) Cohen, Mrs.
Morris (Ida) Jerris, Mrs. Meyer
(Bess) Eisenberg and Mrs. Harry
(Celia) Nagel; and two grand-
children.
