The Call
N
o one is ever fully prepared to face a major
emergency. Yet in 5727 years of history,
we Jews have met crisis after crisis, and in the
process have learned to endure and prevail,
The current Middle-East situation has
brought us hard against the inescapable truth
that the destinies of all Jews are bound together.
We cannot ignore the precarious predicament of
our fellow Jews in Israel. Linked as we are with
our people's past as well as with its future, we
must demonstrate decisively that the Israeli Jews
are not alone.
Events now call upon each of us to stand
and be counted. We must heed that call.
You, and every Jew in the world stands a
little taller today because there is an Israel.
Insure its continuity. Give generously to the Israel
Emergency Fund during this crisis. Your self-
respect demands it.
