The Kariver (died 1813) said:
"Do not hate your erring brother
on the ground that you have not
erred like him. Had he possessed
your nature. he might not ha%c
sinned, and had you possessed his
nature, von might have been the
sinner. A man's transgressions de-

''The commandment: 'Thou shalt
not covet.' is placed at the end of
the Decalogue because he who has ,
observed this commandment is cer-
tain to have observed all those •
which precede it. But he who has
not sufficient self-discipline to ful-
fill this prohibition against covet
ing must commence anew wth the
first commandment which is belief
in the justice of God. For had he
sincerely believed in God, he would
not be covetous of that which God
had allotted as, the share of
others."
