THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS
On America
From "May I Have A Word With You?"
by Rabbi Morris Adler,
Published by Crown
"The American dream is pene-
trated by a moral passion and
religious conscience. The historic
documents — the Declaration of
Independence, the addresses of
Washington, the Gettysburg Ad-
dress or any of the immortal ut-
terances of great Americans—are
all motivated by more than a
political philosophy or an economic
program. They are rooted in the
soil of a moral outlook. They
spring from a deep ethical sensi-
tivity. They are alive with the
quality of a pure religious attitude
toward life and man. We betray
that heritage when we become the
slaves of coarse materialism or
gear our policy to political expedi-
ency."

A New Thriller
Joseph E. Levine, the global
filmmaker, currently is producing
in England a thriller entitled
"Robbery," with James Booth (as
Levine tells me, a Jewish boy from
London) playing the lead opposite
Stanley Baker and Joanna Pettet
(the latter from "The Night of
the Generals").

Landing at Kennedy Airport is the Dinovitzer family, hours after
leaving the Soviet Union for resettlement in the United States. The
newcomers (from left) are father, Aaron, 55, a music teacher
and composer, children Avram, 11 and Leah, 21, a pianist, and
mother Rosa, 53. They will join Mrs. Dinovitzer's two sisters and
their families in New York City where they will be aided to estab-
lish new lives by the New York Association for New Americans.
The sisters who were separated for 29 years had a joyous and tear-
ful reunion at the airport. United Ilias Service expects to assist
8,200 refugees and migrants to find new homes in free Western
countries this year.

Everybody has a different reason
for coming to Kutsher's
in the summer.
Some people come for a good rest. And they get it. Lounging
on our chaises around the pool, breakfasting in a luxurious air-
conditioned room, taking leisurely strolls through our thousands
of acres of beautiful countryside.
Some people come for golf. And they get it. 7157 yards worth
right on the premises. With three tees at each of the 18 holes,
golf carts, putting greens, driving range, and Dr. of Golf, Tony
Longo, curing golf ills.
Some people come for the night life. And they get it. Watch-
ing Broadway entertainment in 2 swingin' niteclubs. And danc-
ing 'til dawn to the music of 4 bands (one at a time, please).
With late shows, too. And intimate revues.
Some people come to get away from the kids. They bring them
along with them and p0000f, we make them disappear. Some-
times for weeks at a time. Into a swingin' world of their own.
If you can't think of a reason to come to Kutsher's, give us
a call ... we'll be glad to suggest a few.

A wolf had got a hone in its
throat, and could think of no bet-
ter instrument to ease him of it
than the bill of a crane: so he
went and treated with a crane to
help him out with it, upon condi-
tion of a very considerable reward
for his pains. The crane did him
the good office, and then claimed
his promise. Why how now, impu-
dence! (says t'other) do you put
your head into the mouth of a
wolf, and then, when y'ave brought
it out again safe and sound, do
you talk of a reward? Why sirrah,
you have your head again, and
is not that sufficient recompence?
The Moral: One good turn, they
say, requires another; but yet he
that has to do with wild beasts
(as some men are no better) and
come off with a whole skin, let
him expect no other reward.
In order to preserve the flavor
of the 17th Century edition, the
Dover text retains the original
spelling, without following the arbi-
trary use of capitals.
Transfer Contemplated
Ray Stark is contemplating to
move his production unit for "Re-
flections In A Golden Eye" from
Rome, because his stars Eliza-
beth Taylor and Marlon Brando
have been annoyed by the constant
demands of Italian press photo-
graphers. John Kohn is producing
and Leslie Martinson directing "Fa-
thom." for 20th Century-Fox with
Raquel Welch and Clive Revill, the
latter of "Oliver" fame. Selig J
Seligman is at the helm of
"Stranger in the House," with Di-
mitri de Grunwald as producer
and Pierre Rouve as director, cur-
rently rolling at the British studios,
with James Mason, Geraldine
Chaplin and Bobby Darin.
Summer has a special flavor at The Nevele. Refreshment you can
