Leo Weidenthal Dies;
Edited Cleveland Weekly

CLEVELAND (JTA)-Leo Wei-
denthal, a veteran journalist, died
here at age 79.
He was the editor for 47 years
of the Jewish Independent until
the Anglo-Jewish weekly was in-
corporated into the new Cleveland
Jewish News in 1964. A native of
Cleveland, Mr. Weidenthal was ac-
tive in the Bnai Brith and the
Cleveland Jewish Community Fed-
eration.
