Zedakah Club to Rededicate Chapel
at Ypsilanti in Name of Mrs. Staub

The Jewish chapel section of the
Ypsilanti State Hospital worship
center will be rededicated 1 p.m.
Sunday in memory of Mrs. Belle
Staub, former president of Zeda-
kah Club.
The complete renovation of this
chapel was made possible by the
contributions of the Zedakah Club
and the now-disbanded River
Rouge Jewish Congregation.
A plaque in memory of Mrs.
Staub will be unveiled by her hus-
band, Joseph Staub, and daughter,
Mrs. Harold Klein. Harry Golden,
former president of the River
Rouge Jewish Congregation, will
also take part.
The worship center, which houses
Protestant, Catholic and Jewish
chapels, was built in 1955 by state
funds with the understanding that
the various faiths would furnish

their respective quarters, and all
chapels have been so furnished
with continuing improvements.
This is the third renovation
project contributed by the Zeda-
kah Club to the Ypsilanti State
Hospital. Previiusly, a difficult
male patient ward was complete.
ly equipped and refurnished, to-
gether with a female ward which
was redecorated. These contri-
butions have made possible a
better environment for the pa-
tients than was possible through
normal budget provisions.
The program will be conducted
by Rabbi Solomon II. Gruskin, one
of the three chaplains serving the
worship center. Mrs. Ben Chest-
nut, president of Zedakah Club,
together with chairman Mrs. Al
Blumenthal and co-chairman Mrs.
Paul Deutch invite the community.
