Jewish Meals

By ROSALIND S. ZUNSER

(Copyright, 1967. JTA, Inc.)

i n the shtetl
To a Jewish child n
there were numerous holidays to
make' up for the sordidness of
living in a restricted and squalid
ghetto. Best of all was Passover.
For the whole of the following
week you were free of the cramped
heder, the angry Rebbe with his
cat-o-nine-tails.
As an added attraction you had
Hol-Hamoed Pesach; a whole week
of luscious, honey-dripping llrem-
slak. Life could be sweet !
