daughter of Mrs. Newton Tene-
baum of Lincoln Rd., Oak Park,
and the late Mr. Tenebaum, and
Arnold Daniel Gluck, son of Mrs.
Edward Gluck of New York and
the late Mr. Gluck, were united
in marriage Saturday evening It a
ceremony at the Whittier Hol^1.
Rabbi Jacob Segal and Cantor Har-
old Orbach officiated.

The bride wore a peau de soie
gown, trimmed with Alencon lace
and seed pearls along the hem
and sleeves. The train fell from
the shoulder and was also bordered
with seed pearls and Alencon lace.
A fingertip veil was attached to a
dome-shaped headpiece. The
crown was embroidered with lace
and cups of seed pearl. The bride
carried two red roses over her
confirmation Bible.

Mrs. Harvey Kahn served the
bride as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Susan Hassel,
cousin of the bride, Barbara
Berk, and Joyce Collins.

The bridegroom's brother, Stan-
ley Gluck of Cleveland, served as
best man. Ushers were Daniel
Hahn of New York, Robert Roggio
and Michael Layne, cousin of the
bride. Lisa Sue Powers was junior
bridesmaid, and Steven Veech-
iones of New York was junior
usher.
Following a Florida honeymoon,
the couple will reside in South-
field.

York has been named chairman of
a Brandeis University dinner
which will honor the president of
Filene's of Boston, Richard G.
Shapiro. During the May 10 din-
ner, which will be held at New
York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, Mr.
Shapiro will be inducted as a
Brandeis Fellow.

The Detroit-East Lay Society of
the MICHIGAN DIABETES ASSO-
CIATION will meet 7:30 p.m. May
9 at St. John Hospital. Dr. PIERO
P. FOA, chief of the division of
research at Sinai Hispital of De-
troit, will discuss "Latest Research
Developments in Diabetes." A film
strip about Camp Midicha for dia-
betic youngsters age 8-16 will be
shown. The public is invited.

Like so many conductors, BER-
NARD HAITINK, leader of the
Concertgebouw Orchestra, which
comes to the Masonic Auditorium
Wednesday, May 10, 8:20 p.m.. was
originally an orchestral violinist.
Born in Amsterdam in 1929, Hai-
tink, from 1955 to 1961 was con-
ductor of the "Radio Filharmon-
isch Orkest," with which he made
successful tours to Italy and Ger-
many. In 1956, when Carlo Maria
Guilini suddenly fell ill and had
to cancel his appearance with the
Concertgebouw Orchestra, Haitink
was asked to substitute for him.
Thereafter, he appeared regularly
as guest conductor with the Con-
certgebouw Orchestra.

When the BRISTOL OLD VIC
comes to the Masonic Auditorium,
May 3 and 4 at 8:20 p.m., it will
perform the Shakespearian dramas
"Hamlet" and "Romeo and Juliet"
upon a specially designed. revolv-

President Zalman Shazar re-
ceived U. S. Senator EDWARD
BROOKE, Massachusetts Demo-
crat, who arrived here for a pri-
vate five-day visit. Sen. Brooke,
who is accompanied by his wife,
attended the seder at Kvutzat Kin-
eret, a kibutz near Lake Tiberias.
On Wednesday, he attended ground-
breaking ceremonies for a school
bearing his name. Sen. Brooke has
been active for years in the Boston
Ilistadrut Committee. Another for-
eign visitor in Jerusalem is
JACQUES SOUSTELLE, a French
politician and opposition leader,
who arrived for what he described
as a private visit in connection with
a book he is preparing.

Norwalk, Conn., national comman-

the U.S.A., was named a Chevalier
by the European Federation of
