Shaarey Zedek and Adas Shalom Synagogue Lansing Shaarey Zedek Planning New Temple Ted Levy, chairman of t h e building committee for East Lan- sing's Shaarey Zedek Congrega- tion, announces its new temple will be constructed starting late in May. The $500,000 structure will be located in the northwestern corner of the city and will serve 252 families. As part of the fund drive for the new facility, the present tem- ple in Lansing will be sold. The proposed building will h a v e approximately 21,500 square feet of sanctuary, social hall, classroom and office space. The sanctuary will have 250 permanent seats with a sliding partition opening into an adjoin. ing social hall and stage area, bringing the total seating capac- ity to 600. A huge truncated cone roof will provide both natural and artificial light for the sanctuary. A concrete menora will stand just outside the sanctuary area. The temple serves both Reform and Conservative Jews in the Lan- sing area. Third Seder Called Off Shaarit Ilaplaytah, Survivors of 1945, has called off its third seder scheduled for this Sunday because of conflict with the con- cluding days of Passover.
