ALLIED JEWISH CAMPAIGN
PROCLAMATION

by the Rabbis of Greater Detroit

Throughout the generations, our Rabbis and teachers have inspired us with

the mitzvah of

Tzedakah, to do justice and to love mercy.

Even in adversity the Jew has maintained his faith and demonstrated the concept of

caring for

one's fellow man. The care extended today is far broader than ever before believed possible, reaching

into every facet in the life of our community.

Through its hospitals, homes for aged, family welfare and child care agencies, through its vocational

Welfare

services and community centers, its camps and its schools, the member agencies of the Jewish

Federation of Detroit play a significant role in maintaining the cohesiveness, the security as well as

the

health, of our Jewish community.

The Congregational Council calls upon each and every member of our community to join hands,

hearts and resources in support of the 1967 Allied Jewish Campaign.
