Poland as one of three countries
seeking the extradition of Franz

Nazi activities at a press confer-

Stangl, who served as wartime

cial representative of the Polish
public prosecutor, showed to the
news conference a document al-
legedly signed by Starlet dealing
with shipment of 52 boxcars of
clothing collected from Treblinka
victims. He said he also had a
letter from a German commander .
which described Stangl as "the
best of all camp commanders."
Stangl has been accused of corn
plicity in the wartime camp kill-
ings of more than 70,000 Jews.

Arab school children from nearby Kfar Kara in Israel make
friends with one of the residents of the Neve Avot old age home

Justice department sources were
quoted as saying that Austria's
request would have precedence for
two reasons. It was the first to be
received, and Stangl has Austrian
citizenship. Austria's charges date
hack to 1947 and are believed to
he the earliest recorded against
him.
All three countries have agreed
to abide by Brazilian law which
forbids capital punishment or jail
sentences longer than 30 years.
The law also bars extradition of
prisoners to countries refusing to
accept Brazilian law in such cases.

BUENOS AIRES—A group of
eight members of Tacuara, the
officially banned Fascist organiza-
tion, broke into a theater here a
week ago, and a fight erupted in
which one policeman was shot
fatally, the Buenos Aires Herald
revealed here Monday.
According to the newspaper,
police authorities have been main-
taining silence on the occurrence.
The Herald said that two men
were arrested but "it is not quite
clear whether they were among
the raiders."
Editorially, the newspaper com-
plained against the fact that Tacu-
ara, while it is banned by govern-
ment order, and is allegedly "link-
ed to murderers, consistently es-
caped prosecution." "The govern-
ment has said that it will not
countenance any form of extrem-
ism," the editorial stated, "but it
appears that some extremists are
more acceptable than others."
