New Perfume Line From Israel Debuts
i n 3 Fragrances at Crowley Milner
Following a successful American
test marketing, a new perfume
from Israel is now being made
available to women in the Detroit
area. It was announced this week
that Crowley Milner has been se-
lected as the only store in Detroit
to sell the new imported perfume.
Sabrina Fragrances, Ltd. one of
the world's newer perfume and
cologne lines, was developed re-
cently in Israel specifically for the
American market by an American-

Sabrina perfumes are the pro-
ducts of French, American and
Israeli perfumers. Buyers from all
over the world attending the re-
cent Israel Fashion Week in Tel
Aviv endorsed the new perfume
line as fitting complement to Is-
raeli clothing styles being sold in
this country in increasing volume
including fashions featured at
Crowley Milner.
The Sabrina scents include
three perfumes with Hebrew
names, Aviv (springtime), Shiri,
(my song) and Tal (dew), all
with colognes to match. Aviv
features a sophisticated floral
blend, Shiri a mingling of rose
jarmine, spice and famous Is-
raeli citrus, and Tal a gentle
mixture of rose and m u q u e t
blended with undertones of
jasmine and lilac.
The Sabrina lines are priced
competitively with the better Euro-
pean imports.
Sabrina is the unique outcome
of the success of the Levitt family
of New York. The late Dr. Jacob
Levitt founded Taro Pharmaceuti-
cal Industries, Ltd., in Haifa in
1952, one of the first Israeli busi-
nesses organized by American
capital and know-how. More than
800 American investors now own
the Taro firm, which is a major
pharmaceutical company in the
Middle East.
In 1963 his widow. Mrs. Ray
Levitt, came to Israel to take over
operation of the business. For more
than 20 years a member of the
national executive of the Pioneer
Women. Mrs. Levitt became one
of the first top leaders of Ameri-
can women's Zionist organizations
to settle in Israel and direct a
dynamic economic enterprise in
that country.
More than 30 of the foremost
American department stores now
feature the scent, and Sabrina has
just this month been introduced
into its own local Israeli market.
Following its introduction in the
United States, Sabrina is now pre-
paring sales programs to respond ,
to interest expressed from retail
outlets in Mexico, Canada, Holland
and Australia.
