Weiner Supervises Social W orkers Assembly Plan
Papo Leads
Pioneer Women to Honor 'Grand Lady,' Oakland County
Cancer Workers
Chayka Greenberg, on 85th Birthday
20 — Friday, April 7, 1967
THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Mrs.
As Oak Park chairman for the
American Cancer Society, Mrs.
Louis Papo will lead her volunteer
workers during the April Crusade
Against Cancer. The board of di-
rectors of the Oakland County Unit
has announced the 1967 Crusade
chairman will be U. S. Congress-
man from the 18th District. Wil-
liam S. Broomfield.
President Johnson and Governor
Romney have proclaimed the
month of April as Cancer Control
Month. Traditionally, this launches
the nationwide educational and
fund-raising drive which each year .
saves many lives with informa-
tion that is distributed during the
campaign. Two million volunteers
called on their neighbors and
raised a record total of S50,000,000,
of which nearly 40 per cent will go
directly into research.
