300 Christians Attend

NEW YORK (JTA) — About 300
Christians learned about Passover
at a model seder held at the Jew-

Lutheran and Greek Orthodox—
had been invited by Rabbi Norman
Siegel, to participate in a short-
ened version of the Hagada and
to partake of traditional Passover
foods and wines, as an illustration

of what Passover means to Jews.

•Taking Exception
to Sonic Programs

Occasionally. The Jewish News
gets reports about objectionable
programs on radio or TV.
! An anonymous writer last week
' protested against a radio program
which was interpreted as objec-
tionable.
Through the efforts of the Jew-
ish Community Council, that pro-
: gram has been abandoned. It is
evident that the sponsors of the
program had no malice and acted
in good faith.

French Observe Day
Against Discrimination

PARIS (JTA) — The annual as-
sembly of the Movement Against.
Racism and Anti-Semitism and For
Peace took place here March 22
with the endorsement of the heads
of the three religious communi-
ties of France. A National Day
Against Racism and Anti-Semitism
drew declarations of approval
from Cardinal Felt i n, the Rev.
Charles Westphal and Chief Rabbi
Yaacob Kaplan.
The assembly featured the pres-
entation of an anti-racist film, "The
Old Man and the Child," by Claude
Berri. Rev. Westphal declared that
"there will be no peace in the
world as long as all human beings,
without distinction of race or re-
ligion are not equally respected."
French novelist Claude Roy de-
clared: "Racism starts at the cor-
ner of the street. It starts in the
thoughts of every one of us. The
struggle against racism means
above all the dissemination of the
true facts about its agents and
about its victims. The world must
be well-informed about these mat-
ters."
