THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

Israel's most
dangerous border

Israel's most dangerous borders do not lie between Jordan
and Syria. They are the cultural and economic barriers
that separate the settled population from 250,000 immi-
grants from Asia and North Africa.
It is this group that contains the largest families, the
smallest number of wage earners, the highest percentage

of illiterates and untrained, as well as sick, aged and
handicapped. To bring these immigrants to economic and
educational parity with the rest of Israel's citizens, turn-
ing them into self-supporting citizens, is Israel's most ur-
gent task. Help Israel speed their absorption. Give gen-
erously to the United Jewish Appeal Campaign.
