Livonia Congregation Plans Cabaret Night The Livonia Jewish Congrega- tion will hold a Cabaret Night 8:30 p.m. March 25 at the synagogue. IDA KA1VIINSKA, director and star of the Polish Yiddish State Theater, was one of a group of Polish artists decorated March 9 with the "Order of the Millen- ium." SABIN, world- famous scientist and developer of live polio vaccine, has accepted the post of chairman of the 1967 Israel bond campaign in Cincin- nati. Active in support of the Is- rael Bond Organization for many years, Dr. Sabin is also a member of the board of governors of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. * * * Rabbi ERNST CONRAD served as master of ceremonies at the 15th annual dinner meeting of the Pontiac Urban League Thursday. Earlier he delivered a Lenten talk, "Judaism and the Jewish View of Man," at the Pontiac YWCA. * * * A new venture into relatively undeveloped areas of the teaching process in higher education — the concept of a "visual" university press which will produce specially designed films for classroom and research use — has been created at Brandeis University's Morse Center for' the Study of Communi- cation. Documentary film producer DAVID KEITH HARDY has been appointed director of the Morse Center, which also has embarked on an intensive program to_ estab- lish a comprehensive Documentary Film Archives. * * * U.S. Senators JOSEPH S. SABIN, inter- nationally renowned scientist and discoverer of the oral polio vac- cine, has accepted the chairmanship of the 1967 Cincinnati Israel Bond campaign. • * * JUSTIN LOUIS DUBINSKY, a Jewish attorney in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, has been named a justice of the Superior' Court in Nova Scotia. The appointment was believed to be the first for a Jew to a Superior Court in the Atlantic provinces of Canada. The new jus- tice is active in Jewish education. * * * Dr. DAVID WECHSLER, clinical professor at the New York Univer- sity College of Medicine and emeri- tus chief psychologist of the Belle- vue Psychiatric Hospital in New York City, left for an extended stay in Israel to be the first visit- ing professor in the Sam and Helen Beber Chair in Clinical Psychology which was endowed by Philip M. Klutznick, Nathan Manilow and Sam Beber. He will occupy this po- sition for the spring trimester of the academic year. * * * The 14th Chaim Weizmann Me- morial Lectures in the Science will be given at the Weizmann Institute of Science this year in Rehovoth by Prof. GEORGE WALD, of Har- vard 'University, MOSHE SHALTIEL of Tel Aviv has arrived in Chicago to work with the Midwest region of the Student Zionist Organization, it was announced by Gabe Ende, national president of the organiza- tion.
