Bake on a greased cookie sheet in a
350 oven about 45 minutes. While still
warm cut into 1/2 inch slices.
Variation: Do not make cocoa part
at all. Add 1,/2 teaspoon almond extract
and 1/2 cup coarsely chopped almonds
to white dough, make three loaves 1/2
inch thick and three inches wide. Bake
on a greased cookie sheet, in a 350
oven until a light brown about 45 min-
utes. Remove from oven, put on a
board and cut into 1/2 inch slices. Put
back on cooky sheet and toast in a
400 degree oven until well toasted.

THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS
By ROSALIND S. ZUNSER I
Sift the sifted flour with the baking
powder. Beat the eggs with 1 cup of
sugar until thick. Add oil, vanilla,
flour. Knead a few minutes on a
floured board until smooth. Take 1/4 of
this dough and add cocoa, sugar and
cinnamon. Mix well. Make white dough
into three loaves 1/2 inch thick and 3
inches wide. Divide cocoa dough into
three parts. Make a groove in the
middle of each white loaf, put the
cocoa part in it and cover over with
the white part.
