THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Friday, February 17, 1967-39 Dr. Alexander Sanders Dies at 69; Niel Day School Fund to Honor Noted Surgeon, Zionig and Hebraisi Dr. Alexander Sanders, of 19180 Prairie, prominent Detroit surgeon and a leader in cultural and Zion- ist circles here, died last Saturday evening at age 69. Funeral services were held Man- y noon at Kaufman Chapel . S'urviving are his wife, Rebecca, a leader in many Jewish and civic community functions; a son, Dr. Richard Sanders of Denver; two daughters, Marion of Belmont, Mass., and Mrs. Avrum (Judy) Goodie of Norwalk, Conn.; and four grandchildren. To honor his memory, an Alexander Sanders scholarship fund has been set up at the Hillel Day School. Born in Mbhilev, Russia, Dr. Sanders came to this country at the age of 17.
