Dr. Pollock is the only Ameri- can to have held the presidency of the International Political Sci- ence Association. He has served as a member of the Hoover Commission on the Organization of the Executive Branch; • adviser to the high commissioner in Germany; ad- viser to the departments of State and Defense; and lecturer before the Army, Air and Na- tional War Colleges. For his services, the U.S. government presented Prof. Pollock the Medal for Merit. His services in the reconstruc- tion and democratization of Ger- many were recognized by the German Federal Republic, which awarded him the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit.
