Reports to the effect that Eshkol

American Airmen to Train
Jordan Pilots on Starfighters

WASHINGTON (JTA) — Govern-

that United States Air Force per-

to the Amman government after
Israel's retaliatory • raid last No-
vember on the Jordanian village
of Es Samu.

ised Israel that Washington will
do its best to ease tensions on the
Syrian border although officials
said that proposals for a joint
American-Soviet peace approach
were unrealistic.

Administration authorities char-
acterized the Damascus officer
