Mr. Sobel, 81, started his business, Sobel Brothers, in 1912 and re- tired in 1945. He was an Oak Park resident the past seven years. Mr. Sobel was a life member of Pioneer Lodge, F&AM„ in Saginaw and was a charter member of Temple Beth El there. As an area resident, he belonged to Temple Emanu-EL He had an extensive knowledge of designing and was noted for his alterations, bringing customers from towns and cities miles away. He started the business with his brother, Philip. A 25-year employe of his, Mrs. Leona Chereton, had been caring for Mr. Sobel the past 51/2 years. Mr. Sobel, whose wife Hazel died in 1959, leaves a sister, Mrs. Clara Lichtenstein of New York.
